What does the lookup show?
A domain's records tell where the name points. The lookup reads them and translates them into plain language.
- Available or taken. Asked directly from the registry (.fi, .com, .net and .org). For a taken domain you see the registration date and validity. For other endings the status is inferred from DNS and marked as unconfirmed.
- Website. Where the site is: for example behind Cloudflare, on a known publishing platform or on its own server.
- Email. Which service receives the mail, for example Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace.
- DNS. Who manages the records, meaning where the site and email addresses are changed.
- Protections and verifications. Whether email protection (SPF and DMARC), DNS signing (DNSSEC) and certificate restriction (CAA) are in place, and which services the domain ownership has been proven to.
- The same name with other endings. Whether the same name is available as .fi, .com, .net, .org or .eu.
How do I order a domain?
When the name is available, press Ask us to register it and fill in your details. We register the domain for you and run it as a service from then on: the price is €4.50 per month per domain, and it includes the yearly renewal and name server maintenance. You get a confirmation by email, and we get in touch when the domain is in use. The order is binding.
What does the lookup not see?
The lookup reads only public records. It does not see the domain holder's contact details or what is on the website or in the mailboxes. The registry query works for .fi, .com, .net and .org; for other endings availability is confirmed by us before registering.
What happens to the data?
The lookup runs from our own server in Cloudflare's EU network. The domain, time and status are stored with us so we can see which names are looked up. The order's contact details travel only by email to us and as a confirmation to you. The details are in the privacy notice.
