Windows 10 support has ended — but that doesn't mean every computer needs replacing

The Windows 11 upgrade is free of charge for computers that meet the hardware requirements. That's why the right answer isn't always a new computer — and when it is, the decision should rest on the computer's condition, not on a sales pitch. Four questions give you a direction for each computer.

The test covers Windows 10 computers. Mac lifecycles are assessed differently — Apple devices are a big part of our daily work, so we're happy to help with those too.
